ideCAD® IDS STRUCTURAL can not only be used for the structural analyze and reinforcement calculation of new buildings exclusively, but also for the structurally checking of any existing old buildings with respect to their sufficiency from the structural aspect, as a lot of existing old buildings must be structurally checked whether their strength is sufficient, and whether they need any reinforcing before any architectural restoration and renovation works are started. Any and all building object data and material properties, dimensions, the respective tensile and compressive strength of the concrete, yield stress of reinforcement steel, modules of elasticity, geometrical characteristic values of the respective elements as well as their moments of inertia, and supporting conditions of the nodes or column-beam intersections joints (the partial tie ratio) as well as the lengths of the rigid cantilevers or other extremities as having been ascertained as a result of the re-measuring survey and survey of any exiting old building, can be defined individually on object basis. The input of the characteristic values of the structural supporting system from outwards on object basis, enables a realistic after-modeling of the old buildings.

Additionally, again for reinforcing purposes, between any already existing columns of an existing old building new reinforcing panels or shear walls can be defined. ideCAD® IDS STRUCTURAL performs besides overturning safety proof also shear force safety proof. In the Earthquake Code General Report in the program, the ratio of the total sum of the shear forces of the shear walls/panels to the total sum of the shear forces of all structural supporting elements is reported. The user is enabled to select the ductility of the structural supporting system as mixed system. The reinforcement quantities of the existing beams and columns can be fixed. The moment bearing capacities of the column reinforcements can be checked. The stiffness center as well as the mass center are shown on the plan, so that also an eye check of these points is enabled.
Thanks to the high performance CAD FUNCTIONS, any detail drawings for restoration, renovation and reinforcing projects can be made easily.
