Collar beam

It’s been developed to define collar beams between rafters. Collar beams can be defined as single or double. To define collar beam:

Image/idearchitectural00090000.gif Left-click on one of the rafters that the collar beam will be drawn in between.

Image/idearchitectural00090000.gif Left-click on the other rafter that the collar beam will be drawn in between.

Image/idearchitectural00090000.gif The Collar Beam dialog will appear on the screen. Do the necessary settings here and click OK.

Image/idearchitectural00090000.gif The collar beam drawing will be completed.

Image/idearchitectural00090000.gif Right-click and click Repeat Last Command from the appearing menu.

Image/idearchitectural00090000.gif The program will re-enter the collar beam drawing mode.

Image/idearchitectural00090000.gif Generate the other collar beams applying the procedure above.

The parameter in the collar beam dialog are the following:

Width: The width of the collar beam cross-section (m).

Height: The height of the collar beam cross-section (m).

Elevation: Enter the elevation (m) that the collar beam will be placed. The distance of the collar beam from the eaves is determined automatically.

Distance: The distance (m) between two collar beams in case of double collar.

Trim Distance: Determines the distance (m) of the diagonal trims to be applied to the ends of collars. Negative or positive value can be entered.

Create Left/Right Collar: If double collar is wanted check both choices. If you want single collar check only one choice.
